What we photograph, and for whom
We shoot two kinds of photography, often in the same project. Product photography shows the object clearly and consistently: on white, on colour, in detail, at scale. Campaign photography places it in a world, with models, locations and a mood that belongs to your brand.
Our clients are brand and e-commerce teams at fashion, jewellery, beauty, homeware and hospitality brands, who need images that work on a product page, in a lookbook, on a billboard and in a press pack. If you want to understand the craft in depth, our luxury product photography guide covers lighting, styling and retouching.
How we approach it
Light for the material
Gold, silver, glass, leather, silk and matte ceramic each need different light. We build lighting around the most difficult surface in the frame, shaping reflections so that edges are crisp, colours are true and texture is visible. We test on the actual product before a single final frame is taken.
Art direction and styling
Every image is planned: the angle, the crop, the props, the background tone, the shadow. For campaigns we develop a visual concept with references, casting, hair and make-up, wardrobe and locations. Styling is edited ruthlessly, because in luxury imagery what you leave out matters most.
Consistency across a range
A catalogue only feels premium when every image matches. We lock camera height, lens, light and background for each product type, record the settings, and reuse them across shoots so new products sit comfortably beside old ones.
Retouching that respects the product
We remove dust, marks and distractions, balance colour and refine reflections. We do not change what the product is. Customers notice when an item arrives looking different from its photograph, and so do returns departments.
Formats we deliver
- 4:5Product page
Portrait crops for e-commerce galleries and marketplaces.
- 1:1Square
Catalogue grids, thumbnails and some marketplaces.
- 9:16Story and screen
Stories, in-store screens and mobile banners.
- 3:2Landscape
Website headers, lookbooks and print spreads.
We compose with room for every crop, so no image has to be forced into a format later.
What is included
- A shot list or campaign concept agreed before the shoot.
- Casting, locations, wardrobe, hair and make-up for campaign work.
- Product preparation and handling, including for high-value pieces.
- Lighting, capture and on-set review, in person or remotely.
- Retouching, colour management and delivery in every crop and size you need.
- Model releases and agreed usage rights for your markets and media.
Photography and film often share a set. Shooting product video and stills together keeps light and colour consistent and uses one day for both.
Product and campaign, planned together
Brands often commission product and campaign photography separately, then discover the two sets of images do not sit well together. We plan them as one programme. The product images establish colour, finish and detail; the campaign images borrow the same palette and light direction and place the product in a world. On a website, in a catalogue or across a feed, the two then read as one brand.
When a campaign day includes models, we also schedule a short product session on the same set, so hero products are photographed in the campaign light as well as on a clean background.
Colour is managed from capture to delivery. We shoot with a reference target, check skin tones and product colours against physical samples on set, and deliver files prepared separately for screen and for print, so a burgundy handbag is the same burgundy on a phone, a website and a printed lookbook.
What shapes the budget
- Number of set-ups
Each new background, angle or lighting design takes time to build and test.
- Campaign talent and locations
Models, hair, make-up, wardrobe and location fees add up quickly.
- Material difficulty
Reflective, transparent and very small products take longer to light well.
- Retouching depth
Clean-up is quick; compositing and complex jewellery retouching are not.
- Usage rights
Paid, print and outdoor use across markets costs more than web use in one.
Relative impact. We quote every shoot against a written scope.
A large range of similar products on one repeatable setup is efficient per image. A campaign with a model, a location and a narrative concept is a different kind of project, closer to a film shoot in how it is planned.
How to brief us
For product work, send the product list, where images will be used, your existing images if we need to match them, and any launch dates. For campaigns, send the idea or the feeling you want, references you admire and the channels the images will run in. Products can be shipped to our studio; for campaigns, our crew travels to you. We work often with jewellery and watch brands and fashion houses, where photography carries most of the selling.
